There used to be a time when only soldiers were taught the use of guns (god bless them) along with the responsibilities of using them. We played Cops and Robbers with our play guns, quite happy, even knowing they were only toys. The level of violence never ended up as shown in the gun games or even killing games, but only as scrap, which vented our anger and emotions.

But in this new virtual world we get free shooting games, and our kids learn about the use of a gun as easily as brushing your teeth. No compunctions at all. As we read from the papers or see in the electronic media about kids walking into school and killing a lot of people they have a minor grudge against and other bystanders, we wonder what has gone wrong with the system and where this newly found violence came from and what can we do to control it.

Well in this brave new virtual world violence is king. Can you control your kids? No you can’t, when they can download free shooting games even on their cell phones in just a matter of minutes or go to any video parlor to play them. If you come up with an answer please tell everyone.
